Typing is hard for them, so start with the two things that skip the hard part.

Ask by voice — tap the mic button and just say "How do I do this?" out loud. The typing burden disappears.
Ask with a photo — snap the screen or object they're stuck on and ask "What is this?" No explaining needed — AI figures it out.

One thing at a time — not several at once. Once one clicks, move to the next.
Like talking to a friend — "tap here, then say it like this," in order.
Let them do it — don't do it for them; watch alongside while they try it with their own hands once.
